The challenge

Turn a complex hotel offering into a clear guest journey.

The Juniper is more than a room inventory. The hotel brings together mountain-view accommodation, a destination bistro, seasonal experiences, events, amenities, and transportation. Guests needed to move from inspiration to practical decisions without losing the character of the property.

Behind the interface, the team needed control over rooms, menus, events, activities, frequently asked questions, media, and changing operational details. The platform also had to connect those editorial needs with direct booking, restaurant reservations, reviews, enquiries, newsletters, and guest shuttle operations.

The guest experience

A visual system that keeps booking actions close.

Veloste implemented a responsive hospitality interface around The Juniper's mountain setting and established brand system. Large-format photography, editorial typography, calm transitions, and structured room information create an experience that feels immersive while remaining practical.

Booking dates can travel between relevant parts of the site, room pages expose occupancy and amenity details, and direct-booking actions stay available across desktop and mobile layouts. Reduced-motion behaviour, keyboard navigation, skip links, semantic headings, responsive images, and accessible room information were treated as part of the core interface.

The platform

Custom WordPress without a template-shaped result.

The build uses a modern WordPress architecture based on Bedrock and Sage, with Laravel Blade templates, Tailwind CSS, Vite, Composer-managed dependencies, and Advanced Custom Fields. That foundation separates configuration, content, templates, and integrations more cleanly than a conventional all-in-one theme.

Editors have more than 30 purpose-built content blocks and dedicated content types for rooms, events, activities, bistro menus, and FAQs. The system supports reusable design patterns without forcing every page into the same layout, giving the hotel team room to publish seasonal stories and operational updates.

A shared responsive-media layer supplies appropriately sized images from 400 to 1,920 pixels with intrinsic dimensions and descriptive alternatives. Search data extends the site's connected schema graph with Hotel, Restaurant, HotelRoom, Event, and VideoObject entities instead of treating every page as generic content.

  • More than 30 custom content blocks Flexible editorial control within a consistent visual system
  • Rooms and direct booking Structured room profiles, amenities, dates, guests, and booking links
  • Hospitality integrations Reviews, restaurant reservations, enquiries, newsletter, and social content
  • Events and experiences Dedicated content models for seasonal and on-property discovery
  • Hospitality search data Hotel, restaurant, room, event, and video information in the schema graph
  • Multilingual foundation Language-aware navigation and Chinese-language content support

Operational engineering

The website also supports the work behind the stay.

A custom Juniper shuttle-booking module built for rollout moves beyond brochure-site functionality. It is designed to validate direction, date, time, guest count, remaining seat capacity, departure cutoffs, and return-trip order before accepting a request. Front-desk permissions, guest email handling, an administrative booking view, and Google Sheets synchronization support the planned staff workflow around each booking.

The result is one platform serving both sides of the hospitality experience: guests can understand the property and take the right next action, while staff can manage rich content and a practical guest service without stitching together a collection of disconnected page builders.

This case study documents the implemented website and application functionality. Veloste does not publish invented traffic, booking, or revenue results.
